William's Swim Lessons

William just finished up a two week stint of swim lessons with Mr. Mike. Mr. Mike is pretty popular around here. He competed in the Olympics in freestyle back in the day, and has since taken up teaching little ones how to swim and be water safe. William had an absolute blast! He loved every minute of it. I think it was because we had been doing swim lessons for a while now, and so this was kind of a refresher course for him. He did learn to do "circle pulls" with his arms, and became much more confident jumping off the wall.

I was really surprised at how excited he was at swim lessons. He would practice doing swim lessons with his puppy at home and be "pretend Mr. Mike", and would be so excited to go in the mornings. He kept asking Mr. Mike if it was his turn yet, and loved trying to splash Mr. Mike (which Mommy wasn't so thrilled with).
He also spent a lot of time talking, and talking, and talking during swim lessons which I guess just shows how comfortable he was. Here is one of my favorite pictures of Mr. Mike telling William to "zip it":
We have been practicing the things he learned almost every day since the end of swim lessons, and he is getting better and better. Yesterday, he wouldn't even wait to hear the end of Daddy's instructions before he would jump out of his arms and swim to the nearest wall or stair. We are super proud of him! Maybe he will love swimming as much as Mommy does!
