Utah Trip- Timpanogos Caves

Our next stop was to the Timpanogos Caves.  We knew this would be a tough hike for the boys at 3.5 miles straight up.  But we brought a carrier just in case Elliott couldn't make it.  It was steep, but the boys both did amazingly well, and no one ended up needing to be carried!
On our way up!  The hike was so pretty, with so many beautiful views thanks to the altitude.

The whole time we kept hearing these funny noises, we couldn't figure out if it was a woodpecker (but it was too quiet), or a squirrel or chipmunk.  It ended up being trees full of these cicadas.
Once we finally made it to the top it was time to go into the caves.  There were three caves we went through, and the weather dropped from the 90's outside, to about 45 degrees inside.  It is a good thing we brought our jackets!
There were so many different and interesting cave features that we learned about like cave popcorn, and cave bacon.  We decided whoever named all of these structures must have been hungry.
The biggest feature of the cave was the "Great Heart of Timpanogos".
Back down we went.
The trip down was a bit tough on the big peoples knees, but the kids lead the way all the way down.
Then a quick stop to see the river running through the mountains, and we were off to our next adventure!
