The 4th of July was a very low key day around here. The kids spent most of the afternoon in their pajamas waiting for it to get dark so they could see the fireworks.
Once the outdoor fireplace turns on, and it's time for smores, the kids know the fun is beginning.
Peter's favorite part is the marshmallows,
and Elliott was perfecting the chocolate sandwich with marshmallow filling (no graham crackers).
As soon as smore were over, it was time for the outdoor poppers.
Then we had a special treat this year of light up rockets that the kids would sling shot into the air.
Daddy was a great help to Peter, and all the boys were trying to see if they could hit the leaves of our palm trees.
This may have been the most fun activity of the whole night! The had such a great time shooting those rockets as high as they could and chasing after them.
Peter was tuckered out, so he and Mommy stayed home while Daddy and the bigger boys rode their bikes to Woodbridge to see the fireworks. They learned from last year that to avoid the crazy traffic, bike riding is the way to go. The fireworks and glow sticks were a perfect ending to a great 4th of July!
