Disneyland

For Elliott's 14th birthday he asked that we spend a day at Disneyland.  Elliott hadn't been since he was tiny, and Peter had never been so we were looking forward to a fun day of new experiences for them.  We also had never been to the Star Wars section of Disneyland, and knowing the boys love Star Wars suspected that would be a big hit.

We headed to the Star Wars section of the park first, and we were not disappointed.
The ships were all so lifelike and detailed.  We even saw Chewbacca walking around, as well as several other Star Wars characters.
Our first ride was Rise of the Resistance.  It was an incredible interactive experience and became all of our favorites of the day.
After exploring all we could of Star Wars we headed over to Tom Sawyer Island where Peter and Elliott did lots of running around and exploring the hidden tunnels.
They finally came across the pirate hoard!
We had a ride down the river in the classic Jungle Cruise and enjoyed all the silly animals.
And finally ended our day with one more Star Wars themed ride on Star Tours.  We tried to do the Rise of the Resistance one last time, but after an almost 2 hour long wait, and being the next ones to get on the ride, the attraction broke.  We tried to keep a good attitude about the whole thing.
Before we headed home we stopped at the Black Tap for delicious burgers, and the most amazing milkshake any of us had ever seen-with two giant brownies attached to the side.
We always love an excuse to celebrate this guy.  He brings so much joy to our family, and we look forward to all the big changes and new opportunities awaiting him this next year.
Happy Birthday, Elliott!
