Our gem-loving Peter turned 8 this April, and to celebrate we took his Aunt Missy and best friend Duke to the Oceanview Mine.
We spent the day there digging, shoveling, and sorting through rocks and silt to look for real gems.
The boys had a great time digging,
and carrying buckets back and forth to our water troughs.
Here are all the treasures Peter found that day.
And Duke gifted him an awesome set of Pokemon cards-another one of his favorite things.
We came home to more presents, and a delicious California Pizza Kitchen dinner.
And then his Godiva chocolate cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory to round of an incredible birthday (with his stuffed buddy, Pusheen, of course!).
The next day there was even more gem digging with a gem kit he received as a present.
He is going to be a gem digging expert!
