The Throne and More

This week went by so fast. My main job this week was trying to defeat the army of ants that was trying to take over our house. If anyone knows me and bugs, they know we don't get along very well. I have an abnormal fear and hatred of them verging on a psychological disorder. Anyway, first they decided to attack our bed, then the playroom, then Williams room, and then our bathroom. It seemed like every time we set out traps in one location they popped up in another. The plus side of all this is that William has a lot of fun "bopping ants" with Mommy. Anytime he sees and ant now he gets really excited and finds something to start hitting them with and says "bop ant, bop ant.". I am very proud.

We went to story time at the library this week, and our first class through the city called "Nature Trekkers". Both were really disappointing. The library story time is done by an older librarian who is so rigid and reads the whole story in this monotone voice. There are only about 5 kids total, and anytime anyone makes a noise she stops and says "settle down now, settle down". They are toddlers, what do you expect! Nature Trekkers was supposed to be a fun outdoor thing where the kids learn about something different in nature every week and do crafts and activities that correlate. The class was run by 2 teenagers who had just started working there and had no idea about little kids. It was so disorganized and lame we asked for our money back. We hope our other activities are better!

William has seemed pretty interested in the potty lately, so we decided to go all out and get him a big boy potty, so when the time comes that he wants to use it we will be good to go. We got the Potty Stool which is this enormous step with handles so he has something to hold on to while he climbs up. We finally got it in the mail this week, and he LOVES it! We are so excited. He isn't quite ready to potty train yet, but at least he is getting the idea.

We also gave William his first bubble bath this week. It is now one of his new favorite things to do. He has really liked blowing bubbles lately (P.S. love the bubble tumbler by little kids, coolest thing ever), so we thought we would carry that over to his bath. He was really scared at first, but now thinks it is so cool. He tries to pop the bubbles and catch them on his hands. So cute!

I have decided to try and start a playgroup at our house since we have such a cool play room, and I would really like William to spend some more time around kids his age. It would also be nice if I could find some cool moms to hang out with too. I have a mom in our ward coming over tomorrow with her little boy, so we will see how it goes.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures!

William sitting on his new big boy potty. He still has his diaper on, but he is getting the hang of sitting on it. You gotta love the smile. Every time we ask him to smile we get the squinty face.

William in the bath this week. This one didn't have bubbles in it, but it is still cute.

that picture of him on the potty is hilarious! that's too bad that those activities turned out to be lame-o. hopefully you will still find some fun ones. good luck with your play group. it is so important to find moms that you feel like you can relate to and have fun with and support eachother. i am totally jealous of your playroom!
