What a busy and exciting week we had! We decided the programs around here weren't all they were cracked up to be, so my mom and I decided to start looking into other programs for William where he could be around other kids his age. We looked at a few different schools on Monday, but none of them really fit what we were looking for, and we didn't feel good about any of them. Then, Monday afternoon I remembered someone mentioning this Jewish Center and that they had a really great school for little kids. We set up a tour that afternoon, and just fell in love!
It is everything we could have hoped for in a program for William. Small classes, amazing teachers who are loving and kind, and amazing facilities. We signed William up for a class that had just started a couple of weeks ago (someone had just dropped out and we took their spot) called the Transitional Class. It is two days a week in the mornings, and until January the mom's get to stay in the class and slowly move away so that the kids are able to adjust. Then in January they are on their own until June. This is going to be so good for William because he has such a hard time with other kids right now, and being away from me. The school is actually a community center as well so they have a gym and outdoor pool, and just a ton of other things that I will be able to take advantage of while William is in his class. We are all so excited.
Other good news this week, William's testing came back and he was approved for Occupational Therapy 2 times a week and Speech Therapy once a week. So we get to start that this week. Yeah! We also took him off of all of his medication and he seems to be doing really well. We took him to the doctor last week and he is in the 24% for weight and the 87% for height. We are going to keep watching to make sure he is able to maintain his weight over the next couple of months, but we are hopeful especially with his new therapy.
We have a hearing test tomorrow, so we will keep our fingers crossed that it comes back with good news as well.
Oh, and the ants are getting a little better so far this week! :)
