We were trying to decide whether or not we would get the Christmas tree before William's birthday. I felt badly that he would have to have his birthday party surrounded by Christmas decorations, but the other option was to only have a tree for 2 weeks because I like to take the decorations down right after Christmas. We decided to get it early and I am glad that we did because William loves it! Mark even put Brio track around the bottom of the tree with a red engine that goes around, and a little Christmas tree that lights up, and a bell that rings as the train passes. It is probably his favorite toy to play with right now. He gets so excited when it goes behind the tree and he can't see it. He rushes to the other side, crouches down and waits for it. When it comes he jumps up and screams "Too Too Tee Tah" which is how he says "Choo Choo Train".
We got our tree at Costco this year. It was a great deal at $33 for a 7 foot tree, but the trade off was that we couldn't see the tree until we got home. We paid for it and then went to the truck where they unloaded the trees already wrapped in their mesh, and still covered in snow from Oregon. We got to choose our tree, but we couldn't unwrap it. So when we got home an cut off the cord, it opened up and it was probably the most beautiful tree we have ever had. It was actually really fun to come home and see what we got. Though, I probably wouldn't have felt that way if we got an ugly tree.
