Night Eight, where we talk about the shepherds being visited by angels to tell them that Jesus had been born also happened to be the Winter Solstice, and Aunt Missy was here. We were all very tired after the big school Christmas performance, so we had a nice quiet evening with Missy helping to read ,
"Christmas Is Here" which tells the story of the shepherds being visited by angels, and their journey to find the baby. Is has beautiful illustrations.
And then we read
"Lucia and the Light", a beautiful story about a girl who takes a brave journey to rescue the sun and bring light and warmth back to her country. It is based on the tradition of St. Lucia.
