The Pumpkin Patch

Over fall break we took the boys to the Irvine Park Railroad Pumpkin Patch.

Peter is obsessed with horses, so he loved riding on the pretend horses with his brothers.

We checked out the huge pumpkins that won the awards for the biggest pumpkins of the year.

Cute boys among all the pumpkins!  It was hard to choose a favorite.

Elliott and Peter were really looking forward to taking the John Deere tractors out for a spin.  Peter is not old enough to go by himself and Elliott grew so much over the past year he barely fit in the tractor.  This was definitely going to have to be his last year, but he made the most of it with his knees sticking straight out an all.

All the boys couldn't get enough of the hay maze. Peter would close his eyes and count while the other boys ran through the maze, and then he would chase after them.  They would squeal and laugh whenever Peter found them and start running again.  I didn't think they would ever get tired of it.  

But then it was time for Peter to ride his pony.  We knew this would be his favorite part since he adores horses so much.  

And it was worth the wait!  He got to ride Betsy again this year-the very sweetest pony.  He kept patting Betsy and saying "Good job, Betsy!" and "Whoa, Betsy!" Whenever she went too fast. 

This year the boys Peter and Elliott asked to get their faces painted as well.  Peter wanted a horse, of course, and Elliott wanted a grey wolf.  

And when our legs were worn out, we took the train ride around the park and through the haunted tunnel to round out a great day at the pumpkin patch!
