Back home after our trip we were able to see our good friends the Lewis' for a delicious dinner at their house.
Peter, Livi, and Parker had quite a water balloon fight, but the rules were that they could only be thrown at people's feet.
William spent the summer in summer school. He decided to take his first year of math in the summer so he could start high school in Math 2, and hopefully allow himself to qualify for 4 years of computer classes. It was an early morning every school day for him-he had to be in his seat every day by 7:45, and then picked up around 12:30. It was a nice change to be in an actual classroom again, and good practice for getting up early for seminary in the fall.
Elliott's big activity this summer was swim team. He committed to going 5 days a week and improved so much over the season.
He learned that his favorite stroke is backstroke-just like his mom- and he competed in 4 different swim meets. He was very nervous at first, but after a couple of meets got the hang of racing and it was so neat to watch him grow and improve. We were so proud of his commitment and dedication, and the way that he pushed himself to improve.
The Olympics were another fun part of the summer. After being postponed for a year, the Tokyo Olympics were finally able to go ahead. Peter especially loved watching the Olympics with us and pretending to be an Olympic gymnast or swimmer. Elliott really got into the swimming events because of his involvement with swim team, and William was just happy to watch whatever was on.
Elliott and Peter were able to attend a couple of weeks of nature camp at the Environmental Nature Center. It was the first time at any camp for Peter, and he was so grateful to have Elliott to be able to go with him.
He and Elliott are the sweetest little buddies. Elliott always does such a good job watching out for Peter.
And Peter had his own wish list for summer including doing a puzzle, and eating lots of snow cones-which we were able to do because of the snow cone truck that comes to our neighborhood every week in the summer.
