When we returned from La Jolla we headed up to the mountains for the opening weekend of apple picking.
We were just in time for the apple cider donuts,
and we loved taste testing all the flavors of cider,
Then we headed over to Willowbrook. We were very surprised at how crowded it was, but got in pretty quickly to pick our apples. We love going opening weekend because the apples are low enough on the trees that even our smallest little apple pickers can reach.
While the boys waited for their turn to make cider they visited the rest of the farm and all it's occupants.
Peter loved visiting the little horse, Comet.
After a little more running around it was their turn to press some cider.
It was definitely a team effort,
but the resulting cider was the best we have ever had.
Visiting the apple orchard is always a fun way to welcome in the fall season.
