Today was William's 5th birthday party with 5 boys from school. William decided on a dinosaur themed party, since he loves all things dinosaurs and trains. Here was the spread.
William's very favorite foods (besides any sort of treat) are meatballs and egg salad sandwiches-not together though. So we made sure to have egg sandwiches for him for lunch, along with turkey sandwiches, and lots of fruits and veggies.
Mark led the party games. Here the kids are "excavating" for hidden dinosaur skeletons in the sand box with paint brushes. They were so good and patient.
Mark led this game which was sort of like a hot potato, crepe paper unwrapping game. We wrapped up individual polished stones in the crepe paper, and the kids took turns handing the crepe paper ball around the circle while the music played. When the music stopped the child holding it got to unwrap the paper until he found a stone.
William enjoying his lunch with his friend Becket.
Elliott was such a good boy during the whole party. He just hung out with the other kids, and enjoyed his lunch of ranch dip licked off of carrots.
Our last party game was pin the tail on the dinosaur. My dad did a great job drawing a dinosaur for us and cutting out tails for the kids to try to stick on the dinosaur. We had a blindfold, but all of the kids politely refused to wear it, and went with closed eyes...or open.
The Cake. Mommy made the cake this year, which was a big deal because it was the first time the kids wanted something other than cupcakes. It was a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and cookie crumbles on top. Delicious!
The big moment!
We had such a great party, and William declared it the best party EVER. I would call that a success!
